In April, “Fałdy” was presented in Kiosk With Art – a pleated curtain hanging across the interior. It referred to the Wrocław implementation of “Folds” unveiled during ECC Wrocław 2016. In the final installment of the Lublin exhibition, I subjected the fold to drawing studies and transformed the curtain's fabric into a spatial collection of works.&nbsp; In "The Fold" (le pli), Gilles Deleuze interprets the world as a body of infinite folds that intertwine through compressed time and space. The fold—the principle of the world's structure—leads to an infinity of continuities, a kind of description of the behavior of living mechanisms in their constant change. The nature of the mind is unable to encompass all the elements of an image simultaneously. At the beginning of the 20th century, Prussian Kaiser Wilhelm II intended to create a symbol of a Prussian dominance over the Wielkopolska region. To achieve this effect, he ordered the city center to be built in various historicist styles, so it looks that Prussia power is there since a very long time. The castle itself is Neo-Romanesque, blending historical accuracy with a touch of fantasy and Celtic-inspired motifs. During the Third Reich, Hitler ordered a complete interior rearrangement of the castle to distinguish his power from that of the previous monarchy. After World War II, there were plans to demolish the building; however, its purpose was eventually reversed—transforming it from a headquarters of power into an open, public /people space. Through these transformations, the building has changed its “costume" many times, serving as a propaganda tool for successive ideological systems. The silk peignoir—a piece of clothing worn before going to bed or after getting out of bed—has been dyed with a natural pigment obtained from meteorite ground into dust. The meteorite—in this case a mix of iron and nickel—weights more than the typical earthly stones of corresponding size. It is what did not burn up during its short flight through the Earth's atmosphere. The meteorite in a person is that which does not burn during fast flight through the neoliberal atmosphere of extraction. This artwork nods to the influence of the moon phases on the soil and the plants growth. It was raised from those nights when the moonlight is so strong that shadows can be seen on the ground. The surfaces are then illuminated by the ricocheted, specific, “dark” light.
